Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece then moved to England at age 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. The success of her columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she finished her degree. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online platform for voice that gave critical opinions on the state of the nation's politics. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to contest as an independent candidate for the California recall election in order to succeed the then governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna also spearheaded the Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient automobiles. She was named one of the Most influential women in media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on that list. In the same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the head of AOL's media group. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother which shaped her character. Even during her formative times, she demonstrated abilities to lead, and for this she is still well-known. When she was in her 16th year she moved to Britain for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the college debating group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. Following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own novels with his help.
