Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She is frequently featured on CNN's 'New Day Weekend' and HLN's 'Weekend Express', as well being a regular guest on CNN International programming. She served as meteorologist for local stations for three years in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga prior to moving to CNN. She's reported on all kinds of weather events, including hurricanes, blizzards, flooding events, and wildfires, receiving an Emmy nomination for her reporting of Dorian, the hurricane that struck the Bahamas in 2019. She also was a part of an event known as the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, when more than 350 tornadoes hit on the Southeastern United States in just four days, with over 200 on the 27th. With her expertise in the field of environmental science, she's also reported on volcanoes, earthquakes and other natural catastrophes, in addition to the stories of climate change. Chinchar holds a Bachelor of Science of Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. She is a member of a variety of organizations, including those of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
