Julie London

JulieJulie London (nee Peck, September 26, 1926 - October 18 in 2000) is an American actor and singer. Her career spans over 40 years. A torch performer renowned for her gorgeous, sultry contralto vocals, London recorded over thirty albums of jazz and pop standards between 1955 and 1969. Her debut album "Cry me a river" that she recorded and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001. In addition to receiving a musical notice, London was nominated for an Golden Globe Award in 1974 for her portrayal of nurse Dixie McCall in the television series Emergency!. London was born in Santa Rosa, California to vaudevillian parents. Her acting career in Los Angeles as an actress. London's career as an actor of 35 years began in the film industry in 1944. It featured parts in the lead female role in several westerns. In the mid-1950s, she signed a recording deal with Liberty Records, marking the beginning of her professional career. The album she recorded her final studio album released in the year 1969. She continued to be a hit as the female character in the role of Dixie McCall on the television show Emergency! (1972-1979) She starred alongside her husband Bobby Troup. The show was produced by her former husband Jack Webb.
